Defenestro Technologies builds Dromi and runs Defenestro Marketing Solutions. Both started as fixes for problems on our own floor, which is a less impressive origin story than most software companies have and a more useful one.

We picked the word on purpose. Every mortgage shop we meet is running on a platform someone chose a decade ago and nobody has been willing to touch since, because ripping it out sounds like losing eleven years of contacts.
It isn’t eleven years of contacts. It is a database, and databases move. What actually keeps a shop on a platform it outgrew is the fear of a bad migration weekend: the leads that do not come across, the loan that goes dark mid-processing, the two weeks where nobody trusts the pipeline board.
So we do that part first. We move every record, we reconcile it against your old system while both are still running, and you look at the result before anything gets switched off.
Only then does the old thing go out the window. Nothing of yours goes with it.

I am a mortgage operator who ended up writing software. Dromi grew out of the tools I needed every day on the loan side and could not buy: a pipeline that moves the way loan officers and processors actually work, a borrower portal built around the documents that genuinely get requested, and call numbers that credit the right person.
That operator's eye runs through everything we ship, including the parts that are unglamorous. Compliance was built into the SMS side before a single message went out rather than after the first complaint. Document reading approves through a human because nothing unverified should drive an action on a mortgage file.
I am based in Gilbert, Arizona, and I build for the shops I came up in: the broker and the branch that need an edge without an enterprise budget.

What we are trying to do.
Collapse the mortgage broker’s tech stack into one platform. Lead intake, pipeline management, direct mail at scale, secure document collection and borrower messaging in one place, instead of a pile of tools that never talk to each other and a monthly reconciliation nobody enjoys.
The second half is the services side. We run the mail ourselves, so a smaller shop gets serious direct mail without building that capability in house or negotiating with a mail house that has never originated a loan.
Neither half is finished. We will tell you what is shipped, what is rolling out and what is still an intention, and we will not blur the three together to win a deal.
